How do I choose a gyro mount for a high-performance RC jet or Airplane?
Start with the available space and mounting location. The right mount should fit the aircraft, hold the receiver securely, and leave the connections accessible.
For turbine aircraft with a deck beneath the canopy, a flush-mount system such as our Spektrum AR20410T Flush Mount can provide a tidy installation for a Spektrum PowerSafe receiver. The connections sit beneath the top-mounted unit, keeping the installation neat and accessible.

For jets without a deck, a surface mount may be a better fit. Our Advanced Radio SmoothFlight SF-20 Pro Surface Mount is one option for securing the radio equipment within the airframe.

Smaller aircraft with standalone receivers that include built-in gyros can also benefit from a dedicated mount. Look for a design that holds the receiver securely while allowing it to be installed or removed easily. Our receiver mounts for gyro-equipped units use a screw-fastened plate across the top of the mount. The Spektrum AR10360T Receiver Mount is one example.

Whichever mount you choose, secure attachment to the airframe is essential. For larger mounts, such as the AR-20 or Spektrum AR20410T, we recommend screws. For smaller receiver mounts, thin double-sided foam tape may be suitable.
